Action Plan

Our Action Plan:

At Burchetts Green we love helping nature!

At our school we are committed to looking after our planet and making sustainable choices every day.

We are proud to have achieved our Eco Schools Green Flag with Distinction in 2022, and we continue to follow its values by encouraging sustainability and biodiversity throughout our school community.

Each week we take part in Walk to School Tuesday, we recycle our food waste, and we help keep our community clean by litter picking throughout the village. We enjoy healthy eating, planting fruit and vegetables, and holding Eco Sales after school. These Eco Sales encourage everyone to support and buy local, choose natural materials, and reuse or recycle items — often turning them into new creations such as bird feeders, bird boxes, and other nature-friendly projects.

We have a clothes recycling bank in the school car park, helping families recycle unwanted clothing responsibly. Around the school, we have clearly labelled our recycling bins to encourage everyone to recycle wherever possible.

Our children also take part in a variety of sustainable art projects, with our most recent being a Round the World Art Trail in the churchyard, celebrating animals, nature, and their habitats.
