Welcome to Burchetts Green CE Infant School.

At Burchetts Green CE Infant School, we aim to provide a personalised education which brings out the best in every child academically, spiritually, emotionally, morally and socially; building on their strengths and enabling them to develop a life-long love of learning. We ensure that all learning is taught enthusiastically through a range of real and creative experiences and we believe that motivation for learning is promoted through a child-centred, enquiry based approach which celebrates the success and achievement of all. Children are taught how to collaborate and work as part of an effective team so that they grow into confident and valued citizens who achieve their full potential, regardless of their starting point.

It is the aim of the school and at the heart of its vision, that every child leaves us with a well-developed and strong sense of self; feeling valued for who they are as well as what they have achieved.

Burchetts Green children are exposed to a huge variety of different experiences. At Burchetts Green, every child knows every teacher and every teacher knows every child. Older children are given increasing responsibility within the school community and take care of younger ones. 

Through an ongoing dialogue embedded in our vision, values and faith, children are confident and comfortable in themselves as well as reminded that they are part of a wider community which includes the school, the village, the church and beyond. In so much as the school embraces the difference in each child, it teaches the children to embrace the world and all its differences with self- respect and tolerance.

This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community. Burchetts Green CE Infant School became part of Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST) in 2014. ODST is a thriving Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) with schools across Oxfordshire and Berkshire. It is one of the largest MATs in the region, with five geographical hubs to support school-to-school collaboration.

ODST values the unique identity of each school in the Trust. Schools have the freedom to serve their individual communities in the way they know best, with support from ODST to ensure they have what they need to deliver the best for their pupils.
